Where It All Began

The Bio Extratus brand was conceived by hairdressers with a deep appreciation for nature.

The company’s journey commenced in 1989 within a beauty salon in Belo Horizonte, where the founders sought a distinct line of cosmetics that combined quality with affordability. Through the integration of their expertise and experience, the former salon owners, who are now the proprietors of Bio Extratus, embarked on an artisanal production of cosmetics enriched with natural ingredients.

In 1991, the brand Extratus – Natural Products was launched, pioneering the use of bone oil in hair cosmetics.

Memorable Firsts

"In November 1991, driven by innovation and product quality, two of our current distributors placed an order for our first batch of products to be distributed in the markets of Campinas and São José dos Campos. The products were met with success, marking the inception of our distribution system."

A Testament to Courage and Entrepreneurship

"By 1997, our production had evolved beyond artisanal methods. We had transformed into a microenterprise with an increasingly robust brand and an expanding market. During this period, the owners’ bold vision overcame challenges and led to the establishment of a new factory located in Alvinópolis, 170 km from Belo Horizonte. In August 1998, Extratus Produtos Naturais was rebranded as Bio Extratus Cosméticos Naturais."

This growth strategy emphasizes product quality and fosters a relationship that values opinion leaders—hairdressers. Since the early 1990s, Bio Extratus has maintained a national presence with an ever-growing and diversifying product line.
